Development of an Arduino-Based Robotic Arm Yam Heap Maker

In this study, a prototyperobotic arm yam heap-maker using Arduino was developed. Nigeria produces around75% of global production which is widely consumed as staple foods in Africaand Asia and raw materials for processing into other finished goods. Theproduction economic commodity largely crude labor-intensive assuch the need to adopt modern approach farming. The prototype designedto perform heap-making activities cultivation process andutilizes two Degrees Freedom (2 DOF), it has an overall weight 2.39 Kg,350 mm length, 250 width, 240 height. A systematic design method ofthe product adopted development. heapmaker controlled remotely android phone. trial experimentswere performed on sandy, loamy, clay soils. average effective heapheight depth were best observed loamy soil with 5 cm height 7 cmdepth.
